💧 A natural masterpiece accessible to all

Nestled in the charming hamlet of Glandieu, on the border of Groslée-Saint-Benoît and Brégnier-Cordon, the Glandieu Waterfall is one of Bugey's most beautiful natural treasures.
With its 60m drop, divided into two successive waterfalls, it offers a breathtaking spectacle that changes with the seasons.
The site, designated a "Sensitive Natural Area" since 2019, protects more than 111 hectares of biodiversity.
To preserve the flora and fauna, swimming and dogs are prohibited. Picnics are permitted, provided the site and marked areas are respected.

🌟A car park is located at the entrance to the hamlet; The base of the waterfall is only accessible on foot.

To extend your nature experience, several trails invite you to explore the surrounding area:
The Water Trail: a 7km loop between Brégnier-Cordon and Glandieu, offering superb views of the Rhône.
The ViaRhôna cycle route: this cycle path connects Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean and is an excellent way to discover the region by bike.
The site is also home to two small historic hydroelectric power plants, testament to the local industrial past.

Not far from the waterfall, the "Quand on sème" shop offers local and artisanal products: cheeses, charcuterie, honey, herbal teas, juices, etc. It's the perfect way to discover the flavors of the region after a walk in the great outdoors.

Appréciations concernant seulement le restaurant. Bons menus avec grenouilles à 41 euros ou mignon de veau au top à 37 euros. Service rapide et attentionné. Après plusieurs visites toujours enchantés.

A very warm welcome upon arrival. The instructions for a late arrival were clear and well explained. The hotel is quiet and met my expectations.

The room is very spacious, with a lovely view from the balcony. Overall cleanliness was satisfactory, despite a small clump of hair in the wastebasket, which wasn't a problem.

However, the bed's comfort could be improved: the pillows are not up to the expected standard for a 3-star hotel; they are uncomfortable and visibly worn. Another annoying point: the bathroom lighting is only activated by a motion detector, which means you have to slightly open the door while showering to get any light.

The €15 breakfast was a major disappointment: the value for money was clearly poor. The selection was very limited (a few mini pastries, little bread, no yogurt). It's worth noting, however, that the scrambled eggs were very good.

Overall, a decent stay, but several points deserve improvement to be consistent with the advertised standard.
