The Fier Gorges
Located just 10 kilometers west of Annecy, the Gorges du Fier (Fier Gorge) is one of Haute-Savoie’s most impressive natural sites.
Carved by the Fier River over thousands of years, this narrow canyon can be explored via a suspended walkway set amidst unspoiled nature.
Whether you are visiting alone, with family, or with friends, the site is accessible to everyone.
The Gorges du Fier is famous for its impressive suspended walkway, anchored directly into the rock face about 25 meters above the river.
Spanning 250 meters, the walkway allows you to get a close-up view of the canyon walls, sculpted by erosion and the waters of the Fier.
The route is fully secured and offers a unique perspective on this natural canyon.
Beyond its spectacular scenery, the trail also leads to the famous "Sea of Rocks" (*Mer de Rochers*), a striking jumble of limestone boulders.
Several educational displays explain how the gorge was formed and share local legends.
Allow about an hour for the walk.
On-site amenities include a picnic area at the entrance, a bar with a terrace overlooking the gorge, and a shop where you can buy Alpine souvenirs.

The rooms are spacious and very functional. The staff is incredibly attentive and welcoming, even with a late arrival (which is quite rare and worth mentioning). The location is relaxing and well-situated. An indoor heated pool adds a pleasant touch of relaxation.
Thank you for this stay; I will return without hesitation and with immense pleasure.
